‘Honesty is Absolutely The Best
Policy!” This is Karen’s
philosophy in life and in her business practices.
For many who buy or sell their most prized possession,
it is an emotional transition exacerbated by volumes
of paperwork. Karen’s insight, caring opinions,
common sense and intuitive ideas are exactly what
clients want and appreciate. Peace of mind is
what Karen provides. She cares very much about
her clients’ overall welfare and comfort.
For
Karen, real estate is always about the people
not “The Deal”. It is also about taking
pride in her work, quality of service and forging
lasting relationships. It is about establishing
a foundation that will one day be a cornerstone
of her community. It is why she can proudly state
that most of her business is based on referrals
from former clients, friends and their families.
This is especially important in a small community
where there is no anonymity of who you are, as
your name and reputation represent everything.
“I strive to be: The Family Realtor.
Being the family realtor is a privilege that I
take very seriously.”
Karen is proud to call Oliver, a warm and generous
community, her home. Over fourteen wineries and
nearly 4,000 acres of grapes have established
Oliver as the Wine Capital of Canada. More than
just its reputation for world-renowned wines,
Oliver’s landscape is breathtaking with
a combination of lakes and green spaces as well
as housing Canada's only pocket desert ecosystem.
Karen services this magnificent area and the surrounding
region including the communities of Okanagan Falls,
Osoyoos, Penticton, Summerland, Keremeos and Kaleden.
With a combined rural and community population
barely over 7,000 and with significant competition,
Karen and her team have captured more
than 30% of the market share. She has
done so because she is creative, versatile and
extremely knowledgeable in ALL the areas of real
estate. Whether it is buying or selling small
businesses, homes, condominiums or mobile home,
determining investment property portfolios or
working with farmland, vineyards and orchards
or whether it is buying or selling any type of
real estate at any value, Karen is capable and
willing to help with her trademark courtesy and
respect.
Aptly
described as the “The Okanagan Sunshine
Lady”, Karen’s warm, generous spirit
and quirky humour is comforting. Her skilful competence
at her craft is why she is the recipient of many
honours and awards including the President's Gold
Award, Sales Master Award, multiple recipient
of Award Of Excellence, Diamond Award, and Director's
Platinum Award.
The success this remarkable agent enjoys today
is a result of a long and colourful journey. She
obtained her Real Estate license in 1991 and began
working with the Realty World Franchise. In 1994
she bought the company with a partner and the
following year acquired her Broker’s licence.
In 1997 Royal LePage Canada bought Realty World.
Karen’s phenomenal energy and hard work
was the basis of her opening and operating two
Royal LePage offices simultaneously in Okanagan
Falls and Oliver. Her strong management skills
were recognized in the very first year, in 1994,
when she received an award for “Rookie
Office” of the year in Canada within
the Realty World franchise. She now solely owns
and operates the new RE/MAX franchise in the
heart of wine country.
What precious spare time Karen does have she
spends with her family, her three sons
Dustin, Mathew, Jason, and her partner, Gary. Dustin,
the eldest son is a mining engineer. Mathew,
is a licensed Realtor with a B.A. in Urban Geography
and Planning. Jason, the youngest, is a certified
auto body man. Karen, with her family and
friends, spends time fishing and camping.
Especially devoted to Karen is “Lilly”,
her dog, and “Stanley”
and the orange cat.
