JNL has
been an award-winning realtor since 1974
and has been actively involved in residential,
commercial (official member of the Re/Max
Western Canada Commercial Division), resort
properties, farms, vineyards, investment
opportunities, and development. His dedication
to the wants and needs of his clients has
won him lifelong friends. He
has a ‘one-on-one’ approach
that instantly puts you at ease. His easy
going, laid back manner masks the fact
he has a superior knowledge of real estate
which allows him to handle every situation,
easy and difficult, that often arise in
transactions. “I believe that,
while buying and selling real estate is
probably the biggest financial experience
most people will ever have, doing so should
be stress and hassle free, positive, fun-filled
and rewarding!” JNL believes
the secret to a win-win experience is to
listen, understand and then act. He is
often called ‘the voice of experience!’
There is no substitute for solid experience
in any industry. Real estate is no
exception. JNL has many accomplishments
to be proud of during his interesting career.
One such experience was recently working
for Donald Trump in Hawaii were his sales
team set a record by selling over $700,000,000
worth of condos in under 9 hours. Over
the years he has represented other large
corporations including Texaco, Kenworth
Trucks, B.C. Hydro, Intrawest (the largest
owner of ski resorts in the world) in their
real estate divisions, and doing real estate
project management. He has also owned
and operated his own real estate companies,
construction and development firms and
investment corporations. He and his
wife Patti spent a few years in the Caribbean
on the Bay Islands off the coast of Honduras
with their son who owns and operates the
RE/MAX franchise in that sunny area.
JNL’s real estate career has taken
him from the beautiful Okanagan to White
Rock, then to Whistler, the Caribbean and
Hawaii and now he and his lovely wife are
back in the South Okanagan where he says
they belong.
JNL, originally from the Coast, started
vacationing in Osoyoos back in the 60’s. “I
would come with my young family and spend
3 glorious summer months here. To
keep my active mind busy, I opened a fish ‘n
chip joint in Osoyoos called Captain Jim’s
Olde English Fish ‘n Chips. We
were the first to serve fresh battered
fish in the Okanagan to my knowledge and
people loved it. My family loved the area
so much we moved to Kelowna where I carried
on my regular real estate business
For the next 15 years. We followed
the kids to Vancouver (White Rock) and
got in on the real estate boom there in
the 80’s.”
Over the years JNL has seen many people
leave the real estate industry but the
honest, caring, concerned and dedicated
sales people have remained. JNL has
earned a well-deserved senior chair in
this industry by adhering to the principle
to ‘do to others what you would like
them to do to you’. It has
served both his clients and himself very
well.
Although real estate has been a large
part of his life over the years, JNL has
found time to be active in many activities
including: surfing, mountain biking,
varied sports, his love of music and writing
(he wrote the book: ‘How to
use your Realtor to make YOU Money’)
along with many poems and book drafts.
His love of the sun and beach has taken
him to many exciting spots. He and
his wife Patti, (also a realtor with RE/MAX)
enjoy their four grown children and eleven
grand children at every opportunity. JNL’s
dog ‘Billy Boots’ an overly
wise Pom, accompanies him to work and usually
rides ‘shotgun’ in his truck. |
